You see, there are a lot of preconceived notions surrounding members of a Fraternity. Common stereotypes provide a misinterpreted and vague depiction of the men who join fraternities. Theta Chi is founded on traditions and ideals that inspire true friendship. We are a brotherhood intended to build character among its members. Theta Chi promotes Truth, Temperance, and Tolerance in all that we do.
Philanthropy
In 2013, Theta Chi Fraternity became a partner of the United Service Organizations (USO). The USO strengthens America’s military service members by keeping them connected to family, home, and country, throughout their service to the nation. Since 2013, Theta Chi chapters across North America have been fundraising and volunteering service hours in support of the USO. In 2020, our chapter was awarded the Operation Military Red Award for raising more money for the USO than any other chapter of Theta Chi nationwide.
ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE
Besides philanthropic involvement, Theta Chi also prides itself on academic excellence. We not only require each new member to have a 3.0 cumulative GPA, but also mandate each member to maintain high scholastic standards during their time in the chapter. These standards have established Theta Chi as the most academically successful chapter on campus for the past decade!
This hard work has paid off with the Epsilon Kappa Chapter of Theta Chi achieving the highest GPA of any fraternity and sorority at the University of Idaho for spring 2024. This marks our 6th year, and 12th consecutive semester with the highest GPA of all fraternities at the University of Idaho.
CAMPUS INVOLVEMENT/LEADERSHIP
While we require each brother to be involved in at least one activity, most brothers greatly surpass this requirement by not only being involved in multiple groups, but also holding positions of leadership in said organizations.
We at Theta Chi like to say that we have a brother in nearly every facet of campus life. In total the brothers of Theta Chi are involved in over 65 activities or organizations across campus. Included in that number are College Ambassadors, ASUI Senators, Orientation Leaders, Advisory Board Members, Campus Tour Guides, and Interfraternity Council leaders.
